Dr. Patrick Owoche

Dr. Patrick Owoche is serving as the first Coordinator of Linkages and International Affairs, Kibabii University since the establishment of the am office in 2019. Dr. Owoche has overseen the development of Linkages and International Affairs policy; formulation of the office operation strategies, standard operating procedures; and the admission of the first group of international students. Under his leadership, Owoche has experienced increased diversity, equity, and inclusion among the campus community. Dr. Owoche has also overseen the processing of the immigration documents of International students as well as their welfare in Kibabii University. A native Kenyan, Dr. Owoche earned a Bachelor of Education Science specialized in Mathematics and Physics, from Egerton University, an MSc. in Information Technology from Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) and a Ph.D. in Information Technology from Kibabii University. He trained as a Doctoral Candidates Supervisor for African Universities from Stellenbosch University South Africa. He trained in Management of Internationalization from Leibniz University Hannover Germany. He is also a Certified Information Communication Technologist (CICT) by Kenya Accounts and Secretarial National Examination Board (KASNEB), a diploma in Office Systems Technology from KTI and a Cisco Certified Network Associate Prior to his appointment as a Coordinator, Dr. Owoche served as an Examination Coordinator and a Lecturer in the Department of Information Technology at Kibabii University. He is a board member of ICT and a co-opted board member of Open Distance and Electronic Learning (ODeL) of Kibabii University. Dr. Owoche is a committee member of Complaints and Compliments of Kibabii University. He is a Certified International Teacher by the Department of Education, South Carolina, USA. He has taught Mathematics, Physics and Computer Studies in public schools in both Kenya and South Caroline, USA. Dr. Owoche’s scholarly publications focus on the disciplines of Information Technology in Travel and Tourism, Green Computing, E-Learning and Total Cost of Ownership, (TCO) in Information Systems. His research interests are in social media, e-learning, web engineering, Fuzzy Logics and data Science. He is a professional member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and the International Federation of IT in Travel and Tourism, (IFITT). Dr. Owoche teaches in the fields of multimedia, web technologies, data analysis techniques and computer graphics. He has taught part-time courses in Kisii University, Rongo University, Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology (JOOUST) and Maseno University. He is an associate adjunct and consultant in E-Learning with the Kenya School of Government, (KSG). His other interests are in website design and development, multimedia, digital content development, search engine optimization (SEO), content marketing, online branding and social media optimization.
