Dr. Christine Nabwire
Rev Dr Christine Nabwire is a highly motivated priest of the Anglican Church of Kenya, Nambale diocese. And a lecturer at Kibabii University. Bungoma County. Born on 15th May 1969. Dr. Christine Nabwire is married to Patrick Wanyama.
She Schooled in Bunyore girls’ high school from 1983 to 1988. After which she proceeded to the National youth service and later joined Moi University where she studied Bed Arts majoring in English and literature. She graduated in 1994 with a second-class division.
Got Employed by the TSC and taught as a teacher in the following schools; Butere girls’ high school, Kilimo High school in Njoro where she enrolled for her Master’s degree in Education guidance and counseling, Egerton University. Upon graduation in 2004 She proceeded for her PhD in Counseling Psychology in Egerton University from 2013 and graduated in 2016.
Rev Christine has vast working experience from being a high school teacher to being a district youth officer, first at headquarters and later to head to Bunyala sub-county in Busia county. She, later on, joined Egerton university in 2008 as a student counselor. She also acted in the capacity of a university chaplain. She rose through the ranks to the position of a senior student counselor. In 2013 November she joined Kibabii University in the position of assistant Lecturer, later on, she was promoted to the lecturer’s position in the department of psychology and ECDE.
Nabwire has held various positions at Kibabii University. From being a warden to being an Iso champion in the department. She also chaired the university hostels’ disciplinary committee. She was then appointed to the position of Coordinator institute of gender and development Studies. Later was appointed an in charge Igds and currently, she is the coordinator same institute.
Dr Nabwire is a very accomplished motivational speaker mentoring school in Busia and Bungoma counties respectively. Very passionate about girl child empowerment, a passion that earned her an award of a champion of peace in public universities awarded by the then Chief Justice of Kenya, Chief Justice Rtd Willie Mutunga.A philanthropist and loves helping the needy. Founded the Nakuru Pastors wife’s mentorship program. Also founded the widow’s fellowship in Nakuru Nabwire worked very closely with Justice and peace commission in Nakuru. Was coordinating human rights activities in the larger Nakuru District from 2005 t0 2008.Was instrumental in rescuing abused girls from GBV. .In league with the rural women peace link in Eldoret. They carried out sensitization on gender-based violence in public Universities. This gave birth to the association of Young mothers in Egerton university. Leading to the founding of a day-care center for student mothers.
Dr Nabwire has attended a number of conferences and written a number of papers. She is a champion for the less privileged, a great orator who loves prayers. Trained in disability mainstreaming etiquette and human rights. A great champion of girl child education. She chairs the Namboboto sec school board in the Samia sub-county and a member of a number of school boards. She is also the director of Counseling Services in the ACK Nambale diocese
